Themes of Eleanor & Park:
This picture of the sacrifice of Isaac in the bible represents the sacrifice of something (more specifically someone) you love for your wellbeing. In the case of Eleanor her wellbeing is being threatened by her stepdad when he finds out about her and Park and she is forced to leave Park for safety. In the case of Isaac and his father Abraham who was told to sacrifice him the wellbeing is faithful. Abraham must show his faith and stay with God for his mental and faithful wellbeing even if it means killing his son. Though Eleanor and Park didn'g need to kill anyone and Eleanors physical wellbeing was at stake instead of her spiritual one both Abraham and Eleanor and Park were willing to give up their love for their wellbeing.
The picture of a drinking fountain sign represents the misjudgement of others in segregation. Like the people of America followed the judgement of the government, Park follows the judgement of his "friends." This judgement in both cases is wrong. His friends judge her based on how she looks and whites judged blacks based on the color of their skin. In both cases the judgement was unfounded and hurtful.
